Scottish Celtic Metal

RUADH (Pronounced “Roo-Ah”) One man atmospheric black metal project from Glasgow Scotland. Drawing from the vast well of history, culture and mythology whilst creating an unmistakable atmosphere with the beating heart of old school black metal favorites with a modern twist,
Musician and composer Tom Perrett set out to create music purely to taste which led to Ruadh’s existence, the name translates to “red”. Tom was born and raised in one of the oldest Burghs in Scotland which translates to “The red glen”
The derivation of the name of the town is unclear but one theory is that the area was once a settlement of Reuther, an ancient king of the Scots, who ruled between 213 and 187 BC.

Ruadh released the debut album Sovereign in the early part of 2019 through Northern Silence productions and it was received extremely well from listeners and press alike. This was positive for the early foundations of the project and later that year led to the first ever live set at Beermageddon festival.
After a few changes in live line up Tom started working on the Sophomore album entitled “The Rock of the Clyde” which was larger and more epic in scale than it’s predecessor which translated to press and general listeners as well.
Infusing traditional folk instrumentation and metal to create a very Scottish experience. The feeling of the album is deeply rooted in its Iron age Celtic themes.

Ruadh also wen’t on to play a few more live sets with so many more planned before COVID 19 happened curtailing the progress on a live setting.

Now back to the grindstone Ruadh is working on album 3 “Title and release date TBC” Continuing the great partnership with respected label Northern Silence Productions and it promises to be even more epic than the last one.
